Personal Data Processing Privacy Policy

Megabajt sp. z o.o. prioritises customer privacy in compliance with the Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (GDPR). Therefore, we do our best and spare no effort to make sure your data is processed in accordance with applicable law.

This document contains everything you need to know about how we collect, use, transfer, and protect your data when contacting you and when providing services on our website.

We may update and amend the Privacy Policy from time to time so that it reflects all and any changes in how we process personal data or changes in regulations. We will announce any changes on our website and publish the amended Privacy Policy in the application.

Your personal data are stored in the European Economic Area (EEA). Every transfer of personal data is made in full compliance with the law.

What is the legal basis for data processing?

We process your data under a contract or your consent to data processing. The processing of your data is restricted to the extent necessary for the proper provision of the service we render for you. Sometimes, to better respond to your needs, for example, we can ask you for additional data. Any consent is given freely, and you can withdraw them at will.

Amendments to the Privacy Policy

We might need to amend the Privacy Policy in the future. Its latest revision is always available on our website under Privacy Policy.

You will be notified about each amendment to the Privacy Policy.

The right to access data

The right to rectify data

The GDPR grants you the right to rectify or complete your data. If you have our online store account, you can edit your personal data and consents in your account settings at any time.

The right to erase data

You can erase your personal data that we process at any time. You can do it at will except when:

  • you have an outstanding order that is yet to be sent or has been sent partially;
  • you have an outstanding liability towards us, regardless of the payment method;
  • if you made any purchase with us, we will retain your personal data pertinent to the transaction for bookkeeping and in case of any claims.

The right to object to data processing under a legitimate interest

The GDPR grants you the right to object to the processing of your data to the extent to which we process them based on the legitimate interest of the controllers. We will then stop processing your personal data unless we can find a legitimate ground for the process that will invalidate your interest or rights or if there are legal claims. Should this happen, we will notify you.

The right not to consent to direct marketing

You have the right not to agree to be sent direct marketing content, which includes the profiling we use to create such content. If you wish not to receive direct marketing content, just:

  • follow the instructions in each such e-mail;
  • edit your account settings on the website.

Shopping on our online platforms

Why do we use your personal data?

We use your personal data to manage your online purchases made on our platforms to process your orders and returns and notify you about the delivery status. We also use them in the case of any issues related to the matters discussed above. We use your personal data also to manage your payments and process complaints and warranty claims on the products you ordered. Personal data give us the information necessary to close the purchase process:

  • we can identify you and verify whether you are old enough to make purchases online;
  • we can verify your address against third parties;

What personal data do we process?

We will process the following personal data:

For what purposes do we use your personal data?

What personal data do we process?

We process the following data of people not logged in to our website:

Data shared with third parties are used solely to provide the services mentioned above. We never transfer your personal data for marketing purposes, sell them, or exchange them with third parties.

What is the legal basis for the processing of your personal data?

Your personal data are processed under consent to receive marketing information you gave us. Except for content delivered in traditional mail, including catalogues, such information is sent under our controller’s legitimate interest.

The right to withdraw consent

You may withdraw your consent to personal data processing and marketing information at any time. As soon as you do it, we immediately stop sending you any marketing information offers sent earlier under a marketing information consent.

You may request that we stop sending you marketing information the following way:

  • by following instructions in each such message sent by us;
  • by editing your account settings in the Settings tab of our store.

How long do we store your data?

We will store your data for marketing purposes until you withdraw your consent. Regarding marketing information sent by e-mail, you will be considered an inactive customer if you do not open any message from us in three years. When this period expires, we will remove your personal data from our database.

Cookies Policy

Controller’s cookies – means cookies sent by us related to the provision of electronic services by us via our websites.

Third-party cookies – means cookies sent by our partners via our website.

How do we use cookies?

We use our cookies and cookies provided by third parties to collect statistics and user data in aggregate and individually. We also use analytical tools to optimise our website and present an offer that is of interest to the user.

For what purposes do we use cookies?

1) configure the website:

  1. a) adapt the content of the website’s pages to user preferences and optimise website use.
  2. b) identify the website user device and its location and display the right home page relevant to their individual needs.

  2. b) proper handling of a partnership programme, in particular, to facilitate the verification of sources of website backlinks.

  1. a) correctly configure selected functionalities of the website, in particular, to facilitate customising information provided to the user as regards their location.

5) Analyse, research, and audit traffic and create anonymous statistics that help understand how website users use website’s pages, which facilitates improving their structure and content.

6) Provide advertising services and customise advertisements of products and services displayed on the website.

7) Ensure website security and reliability.
